Annabelle Rensink was born November 11, 1930 north of Hull, Iowa. She was the daughter of Jacob and Minnie (Schilt) Baker. She moved often and attended several schools, graduating from Sioux Center High School in 1948.

She married Leland Rensink on February 8, 1949, and they farmed and raised a family with love and grace near Boyden, Iowa. She worked unselfishly as a housewife and mother for many years, always ready to extend hospitality to anyone who stopped by. Her children fondly remember the aroma of freshly baked bread and chocolate chip cookies. Her creative and industrious sewing skills were a special gift to her family resulting in many outfits for special occasions. She exercised her deep faith in Christ at First Reformed Church in Boyden, Iowa. In 1999 she and Leland retired to Boyden where she continued to open her doors to neighborhood children until illness made it impossible.

She spent the last months of her life as a resident of the George Good Samaritan Center. She passed away there surrounded by loving family members on Thursday, February 23, 2006 at the age of 75.

Those left to cherish the memory of her life are her devoted husband, two sons and five daughters: Leslie and Mary Rensink of Freeman, SD, Brenda and Gary Stobbe of Manchester, MO, Rodney and Sheryl Rensink of Boyden, IA, Beverly and David Rens of Hull, IA, Jackie and Leland Jiskoot of Boyden, IA, Sheri and Laverle Stratman of Little Rock, IA, and Kelly and John Blok of Brandon, SD; twenty-seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister Marguerite (Marge) Kroon of Hampton, IA; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Baker and Alice Koener-Baker, both of Sioux Center, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Marion (Mike) Baker, and Henry (Hank) Baker; and an infant granddaughter, Ruth Ann Rensink.

She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
