Cornelia "Connie" Kosters

Cornelia Connie Kosters, 83, of Sioux Center, Iowa died Friday, October 14, 2005 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 20, 2005 at the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center at 10:30am with the Reverend Roger Voskuil officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center, IA.

Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center Wednesday, October 19, 2005 from 2pm 8pm with the family present from 6pm 8pm.

Cornelia Connie Kosters was born March 3, 1922 in Boyden, Iowa to Herman F. and Lucy (Dykstra) Van Der Maten. She spent her childhood in the Boyden area and attended Boyden Christian School. Cornelia graduated from Boyden High School in 1940. After high school, she attended the Sioux City College of Cosmetology. Upon completing her studies there, she worked as a beautician in Sioux City and later in Sheldon, Iowa.

Cornelia married John J. Kosters of Sioux Center, Iowa on January 15, I947 in Boyden. The couple farmed west of Sioux Center, and Cornelia operated a beauty shop from her home. Later Cornelia worked as a CNA at the nursing wing of the Sioux Center Community Hospital. Cornelia passed away on Friday, September 14, 2005 at the age of eighty-three.

Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters and sons-in-law: Joan and Robert Morgan of Sturgis, SD; Mary and Jake Anderson of Sioux City, IA; Sheila and Ed Middleton of La Quinta, CA; her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Greg and Deb Kosters of Sibley, IA along with her nine grandchildren. Cornelia is also survived by her brother, Frank Van Der Maten of Camarillo, CA; sister, Matilda Van Der Maten of Sioux City, IA; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Harriet and Richard VanDe Hoef of Sibley and Wilhelmina and L.V. Tuff Grooters of Sheldon, IA; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Francis and Jean Kosters of Sioux Center; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Eileen and Lyle Stange of Colorado Springs, CO; sister-in-law, Priscilla Kosters of Sioux Center and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cornelia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 36 years, John and her daughter, Leah Sue.
