LORRIE KOELE, 68, of Sioux Center, Iowa died Wednesday, 10/18, at her home.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 10/21, at 1:30pm at the First Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Rev. Mark Verbruggen officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.
Visitation will be held Thursday, 10/20, from 2pm to 8pm, with the family present from 6pm to 8pm at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center, Iowa.
The Koele family prefers memorials be directed to CHEARS Home Heath and Hospice.
Lorraine (Lorrie) Koele
Lorraine Lorrie Koele was born near New Holland, SD to Bonne and Rickie (Feenstra) Vander Tuin. She graduated from the New Holland Christian School and Western Christian High School at Hull, IA.
On June 12, 1956 she was united in marriage to Duane Koele at the New Holland Christian Reformed Church. Together they made their home in Hull, IA until 1972 when they moved to Sioux Center, IA. Lorrie was a faithful member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center, IA. She worked for Carrie Foods food service at Dordt College until she retired in 1999.
Lorries many friends will not forget how special she was to each one of them. They had many happy times and some serious talks over coffee. She loved to be with her family and was very protective of them. Every one loved her chocolate chip cookies.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Duane Koele of Sioux Center; one daughter and her husband, Rachel and Randy Kroll, of New Brighton, MN; two sons and their wives, Roger and Diane (Dirksen) Koele and Richard and Stacy (Dirkse) Koele, all of Sioux Center; Six grandchildren, Angela Kroll, JJ Koele married to Dana (Bartman) Koele, Valerie Kroll, Brittany Koele, Hannah Koele and Emma Koele; a sister-in-law, Viola Vander Tuin of Platte, SD; sisters, Evelyn and Gene Niewenhuis of New Holland, SD and Margaret and Alvin Feenstra of Stickney, SD; brothers, Junior and Kathy of Alexandria, MN and Doug and Monica of Ft. Collins, Co.
She is preceeded in death by her parents, Bonne and Rickie Vander Tuin of New Holland, SD and a brother, John Vander Tuin.
