We celebrate the life of Arnold John Feekes who was born on July 16, 1925 near Carmel, Iowa to Oepke and Johanna (Sandbulte) Feekes. He served in World War II in the US Army from 1944-1946. On May 20, 1947, he married Margaret Broek in Sioux Center, Iowa. They farmed west of Sioux Center where Arnold had dairy and cattle herds, and farmed several acres of land. In 1980 they moved to their home in town, but Arnold's heart remained on the farm. He enjoyed going to help with the field work and harvest. Arnold lived a full life to the very end. His greatest joy was time spent with his family. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. He shared with family and friends. He enjoyed playing cards, telling stories, playing practical jokes and performing his Weeping Willie routine.

He enjoyed music all of his life and singing brought him great joy, especially singing with Margaret and the Bethel Quartet.

He deeply loved the Lord and joyfully served Him in his home, church and community. He served on several boards and was a faithful visitor to the sick and shut-ins.

Arnold dearly loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He kept them close to his heart and in his prayers.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 58 years, Margaret of Sioux Center; three sons and daughters-in-law: Stan and Judy Feekes, Rog and Linda Feekes, Brian and Deb Feekes all of Sioux Center; three daughters and sons-in-law: Lauri and Vern Kooima of Doon, IA, Donna and Glenn Visser of Inwood, IA and Sandi and Harv Van De Berg of Sioux Center; 24 grandchildren: Jon and Heather Feekes, Joel and Amy Feekes, Dale and Koni Kooima, Dean and Jill Kooima, Lynn and Eric Groen, Todd and Lisa Visser, Trent Visser, Taren Visser, Alison and Benji Obbink, Russell Feekes, Travis Feekes, Kyle and LaShawn Van De Berg, Kim Van De Berg, Kara Van De Berg, Samantha Feekes and Ross Feekes; four great grandchildren: Kelci and Aubrey Kooima, Madison Visser and Kaden Van De Berg; along with his sister and brother-in-law, Katherine and Alvin Den Herder of Sioux Center and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Arnold will be missed by many, many friends and family members. He set an example of faith and trust in the Lord. Hallelujah what a Savior! Great is His faithfulness.
