Margaret Van Roekel, 87, of Sioux Center, IA died Monday, May 16, 2005 at the Avera McKennan Select Specialties Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, 5/19, at 11am at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Rev. Stephen Rhoda officiating. Interment will preceded the memorial service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.

A family prayer service will be held at on Thursday at 10am at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, 5/18, from 2pm to 8pm, with the family present from 6:30pm to 8pm at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

Margaret was born January 24, 1918 in rural Sioux Center to parents Bert and Dena (Kempers) Broek. She was united in marriage to Joe Van Roekel on May 24, 1946. Margaret was a life long member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church and taught Sunday school for many years. Margaret was also active in various ladies circles at the church.

She is survived by her husband, Joe; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bernie & Marcia of Urbandale, IA, Norm & Laurie of Sioux Center, IA; a daughter and son-in-law, Marlis & Rick Hulstein of Vacaville, CA; six grandchildren, Allison (Chad) Vander Haar, Jamie (Allison) Van Roekel, Troy (Lindsey) Van Roekel, Dana (Joshua) Bolluyt, Lacey Hulstein, and Michael Hulstein; and two great grandchildren, Connor and Madison Vander Haar. Also surviving are Margarets sister and brother-in-law, Lillian & Warren Van Roekel; two brothers & sisters-in-law, John B. & Delma, and Delbert & Annafeen, and two sisters-in-law, Pricilla Broek and Thelma Broek all of Sioux Center.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Annetta Joyce; and two brothers, Barney and Dave.
