Jeanette (DeVries) Juffer was born on October 4, 1913, to Abe and Jacoba (Brunsting) De Vries. She grew up on her parents farm and attended a one room country school.

She met Wilmer (Bill) Juffer as a young lady when she delivered eggs to the local produce. They dated and married on a damp March 2, 1936. After their marriage the couple moved into Sioux Center, where they made their home their entire married life.

Jeanette devoted her life to being a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Her family was her greatest joy; and she was always interested in their personal growth and development.

She was a life long member of the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center. She taught children in Sunday School and Catechism and was active in the Guild and Priscilla circle.

Friends and neighbors were also an important part of Jeanette's life. She enjoyed their visits and liked to entertain. Many friends can recall coffee times with a nicely set table and tempting food.

After Bill died on Sept. 6, 1991, she made her home at the Regency and then later at the Kosgrove Estate. Again, the residents and caregivers of these facilities were an integral part of her life.

Jeanette is survived by her two children, Adella & Wilmer Hulstein and Gerry & Wilma Juffer, both of Sioux Center; six grandchildren: Dan Juffer & his fiance Laura Geil of Adel, IA, Tim & Michelle Juffer, Barb & Matt Dubblede, Anne & Scott Gray all of Sioux Center, Jane Hulstein of Ankeny, IA, Jon Hulstein of Tempe, AZ; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Jeanette in death are her husband of 55 years, Bill; her parents; one sister and brother-in-law, Sadie & Jake Altena; one brother & sister-in-law, Albert and Alyda De Vries.
