Alvin "Butch" James Kruid

     Alvin “Butch” Kruid age 72 of Sioux Center, Iowa died Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Avera Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.

     A private family funeral service will take place at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center with Rev. J. Witvoet officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center.

     Due to Covid concerns there will not be a public visitation.

     Family wishes no flowers and that memorials be directed to the Netherlands Reformed Christian School in Rock Valley, IA.

     Alvin (Butch) Kruid was born on a farm near Sioux Center, IA to Herman and Lena (Kleyn) Kruid on June 21, 1948. He attended the Sioux Center Public School.

     Butch worked for Brommers Sanitation for many, many years. In April of 2019 Butch moved to Hillcrest Care Center in Hawarden, IA. He died of COVID-19 after being at Avera Hospital in Sioux Falls for nearly 5 weeks.

     Survivors include two brothers, John Kruid and his wife Barbara of Laurel, NE, LeRoy Kruid and his wife Chris of Grant, Fl; sisters, Ella Mae Ver Mulm and her husband Ray of Sioux Center and Wanda Hulshof and her husband, Ron of Ireton, IA; along with many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Herman Lee Kruid.
