Arlene Van Voorst, age 75 of Sioux Center, Iowa died Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
A prayer service will take place prior to the memorial service at 9:00 AM at Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center. Interment will follow the Prayer service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.

Visitation will be held from 5-7PM on Friday, September 22, at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Netherlands Reformed Christian School in Rock Valley.
Arlene Mae Van Voorst was born to Al and Reva (Maassen) Van Den Berg in LeMars, Iowa on March 5, 1948. She attended country school until grade 5 and graduated from Rock Valley High School in 1966. After graduating she worked for the Sioux Center Hospital and Otis Radio factory in Hawarden, Iowa.
On January 10, 1968, Arlene married Wayne Van Voorst and the couple lived in Sioux Center. Wayne’s National Guard unit was activated, and Arlene joined him in Colorado Springs. When Wayne was deployed to Vietnam she returned to live with her parents until his return. The couple made their home in Sioux Center.
Arlene was very involved in the family business until her first of four heart attacks at age 47. She very much enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and made a strict point that all were treated equally. She enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Mission, Texas. She was a lifelong member of the Netherlands Reformed Congregation.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 55 years, Wayne Van Voorst of Sioux Center; three children and their spouses: Curt (Jewel) Van Voorst, Kristi (Kent) Hoogendoorn, Alex (Rachel) Van Voorst all of Sioux Center; 10 grandchildren: Michaela (Luke) Lindhout, Keaton (Kayla) Hoogendoorn, Devin (Brianna) Van Voorst, Keanna (Byron) Koenen, Karter Hoogendoorn, Bridger Van Voorst, Lily Van Voorst, Adalyn Van Voorst, Eva Van Voorst and Mila Van Voorst; six great grandchildren: Keira, Kendra, Jayde, Kinley, Emmett and Zachary. She is also survived by a brother, Gary (Norma) Van Den Berg; in-laws: Janet (Willard) Post, Sheryl (Norm) Vande Berg, James (Linda) Van Voorst, Carl (Jan) Van Voorst, Esther Van Der Brink, Marv (Janice) Van Voorst, Norma (Steve) Van Vliet, Ruth Vander Helm, Leann (Mike) Klootwyk, Dave (Lisa) Van Voorst.
Those who preceded her in death are her parents and parents in-law, a brother, Glenn Van Den Berg and brother-in-law, Ron Van Der Brink.
