Arnold Hulshof, age 96 of Sioux Center, IA, died Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Crown Pointe Estates in Sioux Center, IA.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Carmel Reformed Church, with Pastor Ron Boersema officiating. A private family burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday, March 31st at Carmel Reformed Church.

Arnold Hulshof was born October 6, 1928, to John and Hendrika (Van Ommeren) Hulshof near Carmel, Iowa. He attended country school through the age of 12 before working alongside his father on the family farm.
On November 6, 1947, Arnold married the love of his life, Dorene Boeve, in the parsonage of the Carmel Reformed Church. Arnold and Dorene continued farming on the family farm where they raised their three sons: John, Rodney and Ronald. Arnold’s family was the center of his life where he cherished and unconditionally loved each one.
In 1992 Arnold and Dorene retired and moved to Sioux Center. During Arnold’s retirement years he worked at Hope Haven for nearly 20 years. There he provided transportation and program support.
Arnold was a crop farmer, but most passionate about raising his cattle. He had a strong dedication to his church, Carmel Reformed Church, where he served many years as an Elder, Deacon and Catechism Teacher. He also served on several other community boards, such as the Farmer’s Elevator, Memorial Funeral Home and Hope Haven. Arnold and Dorene were blessed with 16 winters in Mission, TX.
This past Tuesday, March 25, 2025, Arnold died at his residence in Sioux Center, at the age of 96 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 77 years, Dorene Hulshof of Sioux Center, IA; two sons, John Hulshof of Rock Rapids, IA and Ronald (Conni) Hulshof of Orange City, IA; daughter-in-law, Pam (Rick) Anderson of Sioux Center, IA; eight grandchildren, Brian (Marna) Hulshof, Kelli (Ian) Macleod, Aftin (Larry Sanson) Hulshof, Mark (Jill) Hulshof, Teri (Corey) Elgersma, Denise (John) Getting, Melissa (Lewis) Hackbart and Ryan Hulshof; twenty-two great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Grace, Noah and Ella Hulshof, Mitchell, Anna and Isaac Warntjes, Abby and Eliza Macleod, Isaiah and Ezra Hulshof, Trevor Sanson, Kacey, Ty and Reid Hulshof, Ashley Nordahl, Bailey Francis, Gracie Lode, Claire and Charlie Getting, Lauren and Halsey Hackbart; four great-great-grand-children, Josiah Sanson, McKinley Francis, Harlee and Wyatt Nordahl; special cousin, George Douma of Madison, WI; and many other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hendrika Hulshof; son, Rodney Hulshof; daughter-in-law, Donna Hulshof; two granddaughters, Kimberly Hulshof and Lisa Warntjes and her husband Todd; a great-granddaughter, Madeline Sanson; and his sister, Nellie Schiebout.
