     Catherine (Mouw) Lynn, age 69 of Princeton, MN, formerly of Sioux Center, Iowa died Monday, March 23, 2020 from injuries sustained from a pedestrian motor vehicle accident.

     A private family memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 24, 2020 at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center with Rev. Bobby Van Otterloo officiating. Inurnment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.

     There will also be a celebration of life gathering on Saturday from 1:30PM – 4PM at the Children’s Park in Sioux Center.

Catherine Lynn was born on February 28, 1951 to Calvin and Wilma Mouw in Orange City, Iowa, and was raised in Sioux Center, Iowa, along with 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Catherine attended school in Sioux Center, and Northwestern College in Orange City. Catherine attended First Reformed Church while she was growing up. Catherine stayed home for many years to raise her two sons, Noah and Micah. Later, Cathy worked as a para in the school system and in more recent years, Cathy worked for Wells Fargo Bank for a number of years.

Catherine enjoyed travel, baking cookies with her family during the holidays, running around with her friends, going to the fitness center to tell stories with the girls, going to the thrift stores looking for that perfect wool sweater to make her cherished mittens, playing piano, going camping, and extended travel with the love of her life, Thomas. Catherine and Tom have some very special friends, lifelong friends to travel with, ride Harley Davidson's, explore the world, and look out for each other. But nothing put a smile on Catherine's face more than making plans to visit her two sons and their families.

Catherine loved to travel with Tom to Montana to spend time with Micah, wife Jennie, and grandchildren Dylan, and Marley, visiting and skiing in the mountains. And then the trips to Norway. Cathy traveled to Norway every year to spend time with her son Noah, wife Julia, and grandchildren Micah, Sammy and Frita. Tom and Cathy were in Norway last August to celebrate the wedding of her son Noah and Julia, but mostly to spend time with the grandchildren. As much as Cathy loved to spend time with her two sons, they could not hold a candle to the special times Cathy would spend with her 5 grandchildren: Dylan and Marley (Montana), Micah, Sammy, and Frita (Norway).

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Wilma Mouw, and brother, Todd Mouw. While we are mourning the loss of Catherine, we can also cherish the wonderful time we had with her and feel fortunate to have had her in our lives for the many years we had.
