Dallas De Jong, 81, of Sioux Center, IA, died Friday, January 24, 2025, at the Sioux Center Health in Sioux Center, Iowa.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Carmel Reformed Church with Rev. Stephen Breen officiating. A time of visitation and fellowship will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers or gifts the De Jong family prefers memorials be directed to the Carmel Reformed Church.
Dallas Lee De Jong was born February 1, 1943, to Simon and Tracy (Moss) De Jong in Sioux County, Iowa. He attended school through the 8th grade before working various jobs around the Sioux Center area.
For many years, Dallas worked as a hired man for many Sioux County farmers. He was a hard worker and always did his best to be available whenever called upon.
Dallas was a lifelong member of the Carmel Reformed Church. He loved his church family and enjoyed fellowshipping with other church members.
In his free time, Dallas enjoyed going for drives in the country. He especially enjoyed riding his motorcycle with a group of friends and taking time for a cup of coffee whenever possible.
He will lovingly be remembered by his siblings: Allen De Jong of Ruthven, IA; Florence Dykstra of Hospers, IA; Odean (Phyllis) De Jong of Hull, IA, Lloyd (Lois) De Jong of Sioux Center; Karen (Myron) Kooima of Inwood, IA; Beverly (Larry) Eckblad of Lakewood, CO; a special nephew and niece: Todd and Heather De Jong of Ruthven, IA and many other nieces and nephews.
Dallas was preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Tracy De Jong; brother, Stanley De Jong; brother-in-law, Dick C. Dykstra and a sister-in-law, Eunice De Jong.
