Edith Elizabeth Lupercio Lopez was born on July 15, 2004, to Ruben Lupercio Lopez and Rosalva Hernandez Castaneda. She attended Sioux Center Community Schools.
Edith emitted quiet joy and radiated beauty from the inside out. She had a special way of intensely loving and connecting with people. Her laugh, smile, and sassy expressions will be missed.
She loved a lot of things— music, makeup, jewelry, doing her own nails, and spending time with family and friends. She adored kids, especially her nieces and nephew, whom she loved with all her heart. More importantly, Edith loved Jesus and had recently spent a lot of time in her bible and chatting with her sister Marisol about faith.
Edith dreamed of becoming a professional nail technician and would dream up ideas of opening a beauty business in the future, where Edith would primarily focus on nails and make-up and her sister in other areas.
Edith is survived by her father, Ruben Lupercio Lopez and mother, Rosalva Hernandez Castaneda and special friend Nicolas Garcia. Edith loved and cherished her siblings and adored spending time with her nieces and nephew. She will be deeply missed by Brother, Saul Rodriguez Hernandez and nephew, Xion Rodriguez. As well as older sister Marisol Rodriguez Hernandez and nieces Eliana Lopez Pichardo and Grecia Rodriguez Rivera (Affectionately known as the Gremlins by Edith). And her Grandma Teresa Castaneda Lozano in Mexico. In addition to her immediate family, Edith is survived by several aunts, uncle, Rene Hernandez Castaneda and cousins.
Edith was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Ciro Hernandez Bueno, paternal grandmother, Eufrasia Lopez Guiterrez, and her aunt, Angelica Hernandez Castaneda
While Edith's life seems too short, those who were touched by her gentle smile and quiet demeanor will remember the quiet joy she radiated. Her time on Earth was shorter than anticipated, but the impact she made on her family and friends during that time far exceeds the number of days she spent on Earth before joining her savior, Jesus in Heaven. Edith understood the tremendous gift of God’s grace and found peace in 2 Corinthians 12:9 - My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.
