Eva Marie Ellis

Eva Marie Ellis, age 67, of Sioux Center, IA passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Royale Meadows Care Center in Sioux Center, IA. A Celebration of her life will be at a later date this spring. Eva Marie Ellis was born on January 11, 1953 to Virgil and Ruth (Connors) Flaugh in Hartington, NE. After going through grade school in Hartington, she went on to continue her education to become a licensed practical nurse in Yankton, SD. She married Dexter Ellis on February 18, 1989 in Sioux City, IA. They then moved to Sioux Center and welcomed their daughter. She loved spending time with her family and friends, cooking, fishing, and tending to the garden. She will be remembered for her tender, loving heart and her infectious smile. Eve passed away at Royal Meadows Care Center in Sioux Center, Sunday, December 20, 2020, at the age of 67 after a long battle with early onset Alzheimer’s. Eve is survived by her husband, Dexter Ellis of Sioux Center; daughter Haley and son-in-law Kyle Freeborn of Colorado Springs, CO; her father Virgil Flaugh of Hartington, NE; her sister, Patty (Darrell) Doering of Conrad, MT; her brother Rod (Deb) Flaugh of Hartington, NE; and sister-in-law Debbie Flaugh of Washington. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Flaugh, and brother, Doug Flaugh.
