Helen Kaemingk, age 92 of Sioux Center, IA passed away Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Royale Meadows Care Center in Sioux Center, IA.
There will be a Private Family Graveside Service on Monday, March 30, 2020 at the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center, IA.

Helen Evangeline Kaemingk was born on April 29, 1927, in rural Orange City, IA, the daughter of Albert and Priscilla (Vermeer) Ramaker. She grew up on a farm southeast of Sioux Center, IA. Helen attended country school and later graduated from Sioux Center High School. Prior to marriage after graduation she worked for the Sioux Center News and later for a few years she cooked for the Sioux Center Dinner Date.
On March 8, 1949, she was united in marriage to Arnold Kaemingk at the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center, IA. To this union four children were born, Les, Lauren, Lynn and LuEllyn.
Helen was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center, where she was very active in the Lydia Circle, teaching Sunday school, Girl’s League sponsor, and sang in the choir. She volunteered in church and school, corrected prisoners’ lessons for “Crossroad Bible Institute” and enjoyed listening to and going to sporting events.
Helen enjoyed reading, embroidering dish towels and giving them as gifts, Bible Studies, attending Northwestern basketball games and especially attending her grandchildren’s activities and just being with her family.
Left to cherish Helen’s memory are her four children, Les (Nelldean) Kaemingk of Thornton, CO, Lauren (Sheila) Kaemingk of Sioux Center, IA, Lynn (Mick) Varilek of Geddes, SD and LuEllyn (Jerry) Rozeboom of Walker, IA; ten grandchildren, Kristie (Dusty) Powell, Alisa (Tom) Miller, Jessica Kaemingk, Jaclyn (Mark) Juhl, Ross (Kelly) Varilek, Scott (Laci) Varilek, Kellee (Matt) Klein, Lee (Karoline) Rozeboom, Laine (Benjamin) Boesenberg, and Lance (Kristin) Rozeboom; six step-grandchildren, Rhett (Jody) Nunnally, Clinton (Betsy) Nunnally, Brent (Christina) Nunnally, Stephanie (Kyle) Vanden Bosch, Andrew (Anna) Hoogeveen and Nicole (Jon) Young; twenty-four great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley (Harold) Korver of Paramount, CA; brother-in-law, Bill (Gert) Kooi of Orange City, IA; many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Priscilla Ramaker; husband, Arnold Kaemingk on August 30, 1988; infant brother, Leslie Ramaker; infant grandson, Jason Kaemingk; father and mother-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Ted Kaemingk; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Margaret Kooi, Theodore Kaemingk, Arvin Schuiteman, Wilmina Schuiteman, Harold Kaemingk, Tunis Kaemingk and Ravina De Zeeuw.
