Janet Diane La Point

     Janet Diane La Point, age 76 of Sioux Center, Iowa died Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at her home in Sioux Center, IA.

Janet was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 26, 1943 to Donald and Irene (Carlson) La Point.  Janet was nicknamed as well as known by many as Cookie and moved to Sioux Center in 1981. 

In the past, she worked at Harkers, Quick to Fix, and Advanced Brands.  Janet enjoyed crocheting pillowcases for her family (they have lots of them), loved working at the VFW on Bingo night, living in Sioux Center Iowa, and really enjoyed talking and visiting; she was given the nickname “Motormouth”.  She always enjoyed the companionship from her dog.  The most important thing to Janet were her children, grandkids and great grandchildren; her family meant the world to her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Vicki (Bob) Beaver of Sioux Center, IA, and Darwin (Renee) Clough of Sioux Center, IA; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; siblings, Marlene (Jim) Moris of Longville, MN, Bill (Patty) Johnson of Panama City, FL, Linda Blue of  Champlain, MN and Ricky (Kay) La Point of Montevideo, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Irene and her grandmother Verna Carlson.
