Judy Faye Rus

    Judy Rus, age 68 of Sioux Center, Iowa died Friday, September 15, 2023, at Sioux Center Health in Sioux Center.    

     A prayer service will take place prior to the funeral service at 12:15 PM at Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center.

     A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 20th, at the Netherlands Reformed Church in Sioux Center with Rev. J. J. Wietvoet officiating.  Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center. 

     Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, September 19th, at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

     Judy Faye Rus was born on July 27, 1955 in Parkston, South Dakota, the daughter of Marvin and Clazina (Rozeboom) Rus. She lived in Corsica, SD, Doon, IA and lastly, Sioux Center, IA. She attended Sioux Center Special Education Program.

     After her education she began working for Hope Haven Inc. in Rock Valley, IA. She worked there for 39 years before retiring. She also attended Day Hab Services for 3 years. She moved to Crowne Pointe Estates in January of 2021.

     Judy enjoyed going with her parents and visiting family and friends. She also enjoyed puzzles. She was special to her family and everyone who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

     She is survived by her mother, Clazina Rus of Sioux Center, IA; sister, Marilyn (Howard) Dekkers of Ireton, IA; brother, Jake (Lisa) Rus of Maurice, IA; sister, Shirley (Galen) Van Beek of Inwood, IA; and sister, Fran (Kevin) Van Wyhe of Hawarden, IA; thirteen nieces and nephews and their spouses; and many other extended family.

     She was preceded by her father, Marvin Rus in 2020; nephew-in-law, Al DuMouchette; infant sister and infant brother; and several uncles and aunts.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
