Lisa Damstra, age 51, of Sioux Center, IA died on September 14, 2023, at Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
A visitation with family present will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2023, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 18, 2023, at the Ireton Christian Reformed Church in Ireton, Iowa with Pastor Nathan Kuperus officiating. Interment will take place private for family, prior to the Memorial Service in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery of Ireton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Children’s Diabetes Foundation and Sioux Center Hospital Foundation.
Lisa Jean Damstra was born on May 16, 1972, to Lyle and Linda (Droog) Klein in Sioux Center.
She was the second of two girls who grew up in Sioux Center. She loved playing alongside her sister and cousins.
Lisa was baptized and made profession of faith at Bethel CRC in Sioux Center. She attended Sioux Center Christian School and Unity Christian High School in her later years. After high school she attended NCC where she graduated with a secretarial degree.
On September 16, 1994, Lisa was united in marriage to Brian Damstra at the Bethel CRC in Sioux Center, and to this union a son Logan was born.
Lisa worked at many different medical practices including some in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Gilbert, Arizona, and most currently, Sioux Center hospital.
Lisa loved shopping, her dogs, and being a mother to her son. She took great joy in spending time and joking with her son along with her nieces and nephews. She loved playing games during family gatherings.
Lisa is survived by husband, Brian Damstra; son, Logan Damstra; father, Lyle Klein; mother-in-law, Pauline Damstra; sister, Lori (Tim) Bonnema of Ireton; brother and sister-in-law Roy and Shelley Damstra. Nieces and nephews: Abby Damstra, Brooke Schauf, Kyle and Kory Bonnema, Kortnie DeBoer; many aunts, uncles, and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Klein; father-in-law, Ben Damstra; and brother-in-law, Lynn Damstra.
