Marlene Goesch

Marlene Goesch, age 83, of Sioux Center, IA died Friday, November 6, 2020 at Hillcrest Healthcare Center in Hawarden, IA. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 AM Friday, November 13, 2020 at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon, IA with Rev. Randy Widbin officiating. Marlene Joyce (Jordan) Goesch was born on October 6, 1937 to Clarence and Delia (Van Bruggen) Van Meeteren in Sheldon, Iowa. She graduated from Sheldon Community school and Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. Marlene taught kindergarten for several years at the Sheldon Community Schools and later was an Art teacher at the Sioux Center Community Schools in Sioux Center, Iowa. Marlene was a member of the Christ Community Evangelical Free Church in Sioux Center where she volunteered in the church library. In her free time, she enjoyed arts and crafts including painting, floral design and decorating. She is survived by her husband, Mark Goesch of Sioux Center; her two children, Mari (Terry) Cook of Weeki Wachee, FL and Mark Jordan of Lincolnwood, IL; three grandchildren: Eric Beals, Carly (Jake) Whiting and Kiana Jordan; sister, Doris (Allen) Jiskoot of Newkirk, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Lois Van Meeteren and Linda Van Meeteren both of Sheldon and her nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; and three siblings: Wayne Van Meeteren, Carol Van Meeteren and David Van Meeteren.
