Norman Wayne Horstman

     Norman W. Horstman, age 82, of Sioux Center, Iowa died Monday, August 17, 2020 at Sioux Center Health in Sioux Center.

     A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at the Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Pollema officiating. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.  

   A visitation with the family present will be held from 9:30AM until the time of the service on Thursday at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.  

The Horstman family prefer memorials be directed to Katelyn’s Fund or the Promise Community Health Center of Sioux Center.

     Norman “Norm” Wayne Horstman was born May 16, 1938 to Evert and Margaret (Cleveringa) Horstman in Sioux Center.   He was raised on a farm near Sioux Center and attended Sioux Center Community school through the eighth grade.

   He was joined in marriage to Alberta Bonnema on June 25, 1959 at the First Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center. The couple enjoyed living many years on a farm near Hawarden, Iowa until 1993 when they moved to Sioux Center. Over the years, Norm worked for feed companies in Ireton and Sioux Center. After retirement he enjoyed time working side by side with his wife at area craft fairs selling Tupperware and doll clothing.

   Throughout his life, Norm attended First Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center, Lebanon Christian Reformed Church, Ireton Christian Reformed Church and was currently a member of Faith Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center.

   His family will remember him for being faithful, strong, hardworking, and loyal.

     He is survived by his four children: Sue (Del) Van Regenmorter, Allen (Colleen) Horstman, Mark (Cheri) Horstman and Rhonda (Todd) Bartels all of Sioux Center, 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Joan Horstman of Sioux Center.

   Norm was preceded in death by his wife, Alberta Horstman; his parents, Evert and Margaret Horstman; sister, Esther (Art) Zevenbergen; two brothers, Ken Horstman and Jim Horstman and one still born grandson, Michael Allen Horstman.
