Roxann M. Dobesh was born October 22, 1962, in Hawarden, Iowa, the daughter of Carlyle and Ihlo (Johnson) Dirks. She was raised in Orange City, IA and attended the M.O.C. School District. While in school she played organ at Faith Lutheran Church in Orange City and St. John’s Lutheran Church in Maurice, IA. She graduated from high school in 1981.
She was married to Glenn Wynia on June 28, 1985, at Faith Lutheran Church in Orange City, IA. They made their home in Sioux Center and were blessed with a daughter, Jacobi. Despite their later divorce, Roxann and Glenn kept a good relationship for the sake of Jacobi.
Music was an integral part of her life and it gave her great joy to share it with others. She was a member of the Central Reformed Church, where she used her talents as part of the praise and worship team. She also was the accompanist for Kempers Quartet, the Sioux Center High School Choir and played at many weddings and funerals. One of her greatest loves was to teach her gift of music to the younger generation by giving piano lessons to so many kids over the years.
In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Especially over the holidays where she could look forward to making Christmas treats with the family. Dates at Los Tulipanes with her group of friends. Quick trips to get a twist ice cream cone to please her sweet tooth. Her world truly lit up 17 months ago when her grandson Jace was born. She loved spending time with him, and they were very inseparable when together. She is his Nana.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacobi (husband Chase) Reichle, and their son, Jace, of Sioux Center, IA; a sister, Angela (husband Ernest) Gradert of Sibley, IA; a brother, Steven (wife Amy) Dirks of Sioux City, IA; nieces and nephews, Melissa (husband Matt) Johnson, Cassandra (husband Clay) Walser, Breanna (husband Craig) Bosma, James (wife Chenoa) Gradert, Joshua (wife Megan) Dirks, Emily (husband Ryan) Harter and Olivia Dirks; and many other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlyle and Ihlo Dirks; and an infant brother, Duane Dirks.
