Theresa Cleveringa

     Theresa Cleveringa  age 90 of Sioux Center, Iowa died Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Sioux Center Health in Sioux Center.

     Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center.  Burial will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery at Sioux Center.

     Visitation will be Monday, November 25, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with family present the First Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center.

Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

       Theresa (Miedema) Cleveringa was born August 17, 1929 to John and Jennie (Bleyenberg) Miedema in Sioux Center, Iowa. She attended Sioux Center Christian School and graduated in 1944.

     Theresa was united in marriage to Nelson Cleveringa on June 3, 1953. They made their home in Sioux Center and raised two children. In the past, Theresa worked at the creamery, Dordt College, and Kinsey School.

     She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center. She enjoyed volunteering as a Foster Grandparent, loved cross stitch embroidery, and was known for her good Sunday dinners.

     Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Michael (Sherri) Cleveringa of North Charleston, SC, Carla (Harlan) Rus of Sioux Center, IA; grandchildren, Abby (Ken) Fanta, Logan (fiancé, Taylor Carstensen) Rus, Whitney (Tony) Borreson, Brett (Meghan) Cleveringa, and Ashley Cleveringa; 4 great grandchildren, Trevor, Bennett, Landon, and Ava; sisters, Henrietta Ribbens of Sioux Center, IA, and Frieda Bierma of Grand Rapids, MI. Also left to cherish her memory from the Cleveringa family are: John (Marjorie) Cleveringa, Garold (Chris) Cleveringa, Wilma Kraayenbrink and Lee Erickson all of Sioux Center and Denny (Fran) Vollink of Hull.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jennie; husband, Nelson Cleveringa; grandson, Trevor Rus; siblings, Henry (Jeanette) Miedema, Rich (Ida) Van Donge, Bill Bierma, Doug Ribbens, and Dorothy (LeRoy) Kleene; in-laws, Tunis (Ila) Cleveringa, Harry Kraayenbrink and Margaret Erickson.
