Graveside Committal will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center. 

 

Verna Jane Haverhals, age 64, passed into the arms of Jesus on July 6, 2021.  Verna was born in 1956, to Siebert and Fannie Haverhals in Sioux Center, Iowa.  Verna lived in Iowa until she moved to Grand Rapids in 1980.   

She loved the Lord and found great joy in listening to her favorite radio station, WCSG.  She had many friends at her Adams Park Apartment complex.  She was a member of Oakdale Park Church for 41 years and loved her church family. 

Verna was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Margene Haverhals. 

She is survived by three brothers and two sisters-in-law:  Gerald and Thelma of Wyoming, MI; Bernard of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; Harvard and Ruth of Jenison, MI; nephews Marc, Nathan, and Jeremy Haverhals of Kentwood; nieces Tammy Haverhals of Wyoming and Jennifer and Renee Haverhals of Calgary.  The family would like to express their thanks to Pastor James Jones for the support and kindness he showed to Verna over the last several years.  

The funeral for Verna was held on Saturday, July 10, at 12 noon at Zaagman Memorial Chapel with Pastor James Jones officiating.  Visitation and viewing was hour before the service, from 11:00 AM until noon at Zaagman Memorial Chapel.   Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 129 Jefferson Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
