Wayne Allen Van Regenmorter, age 70, entered into the Joy of his Lord on Sunday, June 5, 2022.

Born to Bill and Aldine (Achterhoff) Van Regenmorter on May 3, 1952, Wayne grew up on a farm and graduated from Sioux Center High School in 1970.  While at a summer church camp at Lake Okoboji when he was in high school, Wayne made his decision to follow Jesus as his Lord and Savior.  He received his college degree from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa.

Wayne married Linda Buseman on June 27, 1975, at American Reformed Church in Orange City, Iowa.  That fall they moved to New Brunswick, New Jersey, where Wayne attended seminary for two years at New Brunswick Theological Seminary and then to Holland, Michigan, for his last year of seminary where he graduated with his M.Div. degree from Western Theological Seminary.  Wayne was ordained as a pastor in the Reformed Church in America.

Wayne served five churches in the Reformed Church in America:  Calvary Reformed Church in Ripon, CA; Mayfair Community Church in Lakewood, CA; Minnesota Valley Community Church in Prior Lake, MN; Zion Reformed Church in Sheffield, IA; and First Reformed Church in Sioux Falls, SD.

In 2003, Wayne was called to serve as the Classis Minister for the Florida Classis in the Reformed Church.  From there, he served as Synod Executive for Synod of Mid-America until 2020.

In 2021, Wayne and Linda began living in Florida year round, and Wayne began working part-time for the Synod of Mid-America as Facilitator of Multi-Ethnic Church Partnerships in Florida, Georgia, and Latin America.  He was also Classis Clerk and Treasurer for the Florida classis known as Classis de las Naciones.  Wayne was enjoying his passion for church planting and expanding the Kingdom.  He served as a great mentor to younger pastors and church planters and influenced many lives throughout all the years of his ministry.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda (of nearly 47 years), two children: Rachel (Mike) Weeldreyer of Clermont, Florida, and Ryan (Jen) Van Regenmorter of Amherst, New Hampshire; 6 grandchildren: Karly, Bryce, and Hope Weeldreyer; Alina, Annabelle, and Alexa Van Regenmorter; his father, Bill Van Regenmorter of Sioux Center; two brothers and two sisters: Janice (Lloyd) Dau, Loren (Arda) Van Regenmorter, Verlyn (LeaAnn) Van Regenmorter, and Darla (Bob) Koopmans; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Aldine Van Regenmorter.
