Willard Rensink

February 27, 1941 — April 29, 2024

     Willard Rensink age 83 of Sioux Center, Iowa died Monday, April 29, 2024 at Sioux Center Health.

     Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Friday, May 3, 2024 at Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center with Reverend Stephen Breen, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center.

     Visitation will be Thursday, May 2nd from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

    Willard James Rensink was born February 27, 1941, in Sioux Center, Iowa, the son of William and Magdalena (Moerman) Rensink.  He grew up in Sioux Center with his five siblings.  He attended Sioux Center High School and graduated in 1959.  After high school, he spent two years in the United States Army.

    Willard was united in marriage to Gracia Punt on September 8, 1967, at First Reformed Church in Sioux Center.  They both settled in Sioux Center and began their careers.  Willard painted for Moerman Brothers for 13 years, before working for Siouxpreme Pack for 36 years.  He retired in 2006.  

    Willard was a committed member of the First Reformed Church.  He enjoyed painting, woodworking, and was a big Iowa Hawkeye fan.  His grandchildren were his pride and joy, he enjoyed attending their sporting events and 4H events.

   Those left to cherish his memory are his three children and seven grandchildren.  Willard’s eldest daughter, Sheryl Groetken, and her husband Troy, of Geneva, Illinois have two children, Olivia and Greysen.  Willard’s son, Jerris Rensink, of Hull, Iowa has three children, Danielle & Trevor Jasper, Nichole & Auston Rozeboom, and Darren.  Willard’s youngest daughter, Emily Van Kalsbeek, and her husband Kurt, of Brandon, South Dakota have two children, Brady and Alyssa & Chase Grode; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Philip Rensink, Marilyn King, Arlene Noack, and Larry Rensink; along with extended family and friends.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Magdalena; wife, Gracia; stillborn sister; brother, Eugene Rensink; father and mother-in-law, Gerrit and Edna Punt; brother-in-law, Gary King.
