Wilmina (Feekes) Mouw was born on June 11, 1926, to William & Cornelia (Hulshof) Feekes north of Carmel, IA. She grew up in the Carmel area, where she attended Carmel School.
Mina met her husband Melvin Mouw while attending Carmel Reformed Church. They were united in marriage at the home of her parents on Sept. 4, 1945, with their parents and siblings in attendance. Two days later, Melv was called to serve his country in the US Army in Japan. Upon Melv's return 1 ½ years later, they made their home in Carmel. After one year, they moved to the Mouw family homestead located 1 ½ miles west of Sioux Center and continued to live there for 35 years. They became members of the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center. Melv & Mina decided to build a new home across from the farm where Mina lived for 30 years. Upon retirement, they spent many summers in Northern Minnesota enjoying being on the water fishing and entertaining guests. Melv passed away in 1995.
Mina was employed at Sioux Center Health for 18 years. She was a Hospice Volunteer for 7 years helping others through the grief process.
In 2010, Mina decided to move to the New Homestead in Sioux Center, which suited her needs perfectly. Mina loved to travel and was blessed to enjoy many trips to unique places with tour groups. She also enjoyed crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, reading and playing many different games with friends and neighbors
Mina's greatest joy in life was her family and she loved each one unconditionally. She had a deep and abiding love for her Lord and drew her strength from the assurance of salvation in Jesus.
